Our Federation Pins

This question came from the Clubwomen magazine:

Are their regulations for wearing our federation pin (s)? Yes.

If one is an officer, club, district, state, region, national, and there is an official pin designating that office, then one wears that pin on the left side; over your heart. Any other federation pins such as membership, centennial, region , etc. can be worn in a cluster or on a ribbon on the right side.

The official officer's pin is to be worn at meetings, gatherings, receptions etc. when that officer is there in her official capacity representing the organization. For example, as state president I wear my state president's pin at all state meetings including executive committee meetings, when I am the speaker or guest at a district or club meeting/reception, or if I am representing the TFWC at some outside function. Even when I attend my own club meeting and I am 'just another member', I wear my state president's pin.

The State President's Pin has an interesting history. It was made in 1953 by Linz Brothers Jewelers of Dallas. It was appraised in 2007 at $1600. The pin is the property of TFWC and is worn by the president during her term of office. It is used as part of the installation ceremony for each incoming president. The retiring president receives the GFWC State President's pin as a gift from TFWC which she may then have mounted in any way that does not resemble the official state pin. At your next state meeting, take notice of our Past State Presidents and see all the creative ways they have mounted their past president's pin

The GFWC and TFWC membership pin and other pins can be worn at any time at any function federated or otherwise. It's good PR.
